About Me

My own healing and spiritual path has been varied and rich over the years. I’ve always been inquisitive and began my own inquiry into spiritual health and wellness (and the meaning of life!) at an early age.  My inquiry did not show up in a linear fashion; instead, I stumbled and fumbled my way around by simply following the energy and direction of my interests.  As we know, even though our path sometimes feels chaotic, evolution progresses in an upward spiral!

My career as a mental health counselor and healer has always been based in a philosophy of unconditional acceptance, positive regard and love. No matter what’s going on inside, and no matter what the outward appearance, I see you as whole, complete and only “thoughts away” from your healed state. My work and my profound joy comes from helping you to see what I see. To assist you in remembering and reconnecting with inner resources which allow you to see your true self.  Your evolution is to know and embrace your own perfection while you stand in power, authenticity and love.

My interest in shamanism and South American spiritual traditions grew out of my love of Nature. The mountains…the trees…the rivers…are where I find my bliss. I spend as much time as I can in the Olympic Mountain Range as well as Mount Rainier; and other mountain ranges in my travels. I spend time hiking and camping in order to experience Spirit through Nature.  I love listening to the land, animals and ancient energies speak Truth as they fill me with grace and provide me the opportunity to practice the “presence”.  Nature is my ultimate sanctuary and mentor; it is and always has been my “first church”. It’s where I find true peace and feel completely at home. Part of the art of walking the shamanic path is the ability to “walk between the worlds”.  In this case, it is weaving the profundity, beauty and solitude of the natural world with the more urban lifestyle of living in community. All are integral to one’s spiritual path.

I see myself as a lifelong work-in-progress and I love learning. I yearn for it, long for it. For me that means attending workshops, teaching workshops and classes, attending lectures and talks and getting together in small groups for fire ceremonies, prayer, and meditation and usually laughing and sometimes eating!  I also enjoy facilitating rituals and ceremonies as a way to experience Spirit in community.

I’m a licensed mental health counselor and have been in private practice since 1995.  I’ve spent three plus years in intense and interactive study for my certification as a licensed practitioner in a new thought organization United Centers for Spiritual Living. I’ve trained with several teachers within Peruvian shamanism since 2005 and am currently studying shamanism of the South and North Americas.  In June of 2008 I traveled to Peru to experience the mountains and shamans of the High Andes including Grandfather mountain, Ausangate.  I was taught great reverence for this mountain in my earlier training and was excited to “feel” its presence which I did camping near its peak at 15,500ft!  My journey inspired me to further my quest by teaching and incorporating these ancient wisdom teachings into my practice. In Peru, with the Qero` shamans of the Sacred Valley, I knew I would one day honorably pass on this ancient lineage.  The shamans are saying the time is NOW for the teachings to be transmitted to as many people as possible. We are living in an accelerated time and the time is now for our full realization of our true selves, which is a healed state.  There are many paths to Source, and by broadening and expanding my knowledge and range, I can help you to focus in on your path, your light, and what is yours to do as your unique soul calling and purpose.

This may sound esoteric to you, or it may sound like coming home, and what I want you to know about me is that I’m open at the top, and that my feet are firmly planted and grounded on the earth. I expand my knowledge and repertoire and follow my path which assists me in assisting you and helping you to connect with your highest and best. My style is not to indoctrinate you into any way of believing or seeing or experiencing; instead my way is to deepen my intuitive understanding by weaving various philosophies – western psychotherapy, mysticism, New Thought wisdom and shamanism in order to facilitate the experience of helping you to discover your owned healed state.

Many Blessings to You!

P.S. And, just so you know – I don’t take myself totally seriously. My other great joy is to hang out with friends and have fun, play games, eat great food, dance, listen to music and LAUGH…Mostly that! Our human time is short and we are here to make the most of it!
